[January 03, 2010] vodkalimey [ mood | okay ] [ music | Kra / Onigi no Uta ] I've heard about people making New Year's resolutions and then breaking them all after that, but still, imma gonna try making my very first list of resolutions :) IN 2010, I WILL... Be PUNCTUAL & ON TIME for all my appointments and meetings (unless the circumstances allow me to be late) even though 90% of the time the people I'm meeting are late as well and doing this would mean a lot of waiting. Run at least 3 times a week, unless I absolutely have no time to do so. Not buy anything over $10 on impulse. Not spend money unnecessarily like buying random useless things or food when I'm not even hungry. DO ALL (bolded, italicised, underlined & in caps!) MY HOMEWORK. Pay more attention in class!!!! The Princess and The Frog (spoilers ahead!) [December 28, 2009] vodkalimey [ mood | happy ] [ music | F.T. Island / 사랑하는 법을 몰라서 (wow, Hongki *does* sound mournful) ] I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed The Princess and The Frog. I thought it was magic. The storyline, the characters, the songs, the animation- oh man ♥ I literally grinned when the show began. It's been so long since I last watched a Disney animation, and this one's back-to-basics, hand-drawn and so clear on the big screen~ And the characters = ♥ Tiana as a character doesn't really stand out; she kind of fits into the Disney Princess mould - she's kind-hearted and determined - but then this means she's someone you can't hate. And my gosh she is so pretty~~~! Even as a frog, she's probably the prettiest frog that will ever exist. (I love her voice too~) And oh I LOVE PRINCE NAVEEN! He isn't your typical prince charming: he's a playboy who loves to have fun, to the extent that his parents have cut off his finances due to his excessive spending, but I think he's wonderfully charming 8D Ray, oh my gosh Ray, he's the SWEETEST friend ever ♥ He's such an adorable, loyal little firefly. And while it may seem a bit far-fetched that Charlotte willingly gave up Naveen to Tiana even though she was planning to marry him, it's good that she did because it all worked out in the end :D (Charlotte's damn cute btw) The songs aren't exactly Disney classics - there isn't a Can You Feel The Love Tonight or A Whole New World - but I thought they were quite fresh, and nice! I find it interesting that a lot of the music is jazz-based, and that the movie's set in New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz. In fact this setting's quite a novel one: it's relatively modern, a lot of the characters are black and some speak with that distinct accent. And despite all these new elements, it's still classic Disney: moral values, good triumphs evil, and a happy ending :) What's not to love~? I left the theatre with a big fat smile on my face ♥ While this post may not make it seem all the awesome, because of my lousy description skills, I think The Princess and The Frog is probably the best movie I've seen this year. Fr srs ♥♥♥♥♥♥ What else can I say? In short, I really, really, REALLY enjoyed it. My God nothing beats Walt Disney ♥ I'm sorry for watching it first avacadoxtofu! DDD: If you'd still like to catch it, I'd be more than happy to watch it again :) Or we could watch something else, if you'd like~ I can't wait to watch Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and Where The Wild Things Are, OMG! 2

hallyu wave ah~~ (shall use my pretty Hongki icon) [December 26, 2009] vodkalimey [ mood | enthralled ] [ music | 2PM / Heartbeat ] Watching just one episode of Music Bank on KBS World, I can't help but think that South Korea churns out singers and bands like rabbits produce babies. ANYWAY! I can't get over how cool 2PM's Heartbeat music video is. I watched it twice in a row, which is rare for me (oftentimes I don't have patience to watch music videos XD). ZOMBIE DANCE! Listen to my heart (beat) / It's beating for you! → WAAA this line is SUPER CATCHY! XD And their performance on Music Bank's Christmas special is- WAAAA! I should expand my vocab Watching You're Beautiful has really increased my interest in Korean stuff ._. Been watching a lot of the KBS World channel lately (they have nice shows!!), and I've been trying out Korean music? (F.T. Island's Cheerful Sensibility album is good! And Epik High's One song is AWESOME) Also I was watching the Zettai Kareshi special on Channel U last night (which was quite... interesting, in a thought-provoking kind of way), and the subtitle "I'm sorry" came out before the actress spoke it, and when I saw the subs a voice in my head translated it as, "Bia ne" (sp.?) -__- idek. Korean is catchy. 9
